Prioritize Your Hearing in 2025!

by | Feb 19, 2025 | Hearing Loss

We’re two months into the new year, and we know that you’re working hard on your resolutions— whether that be reading more books, working out and getting healthy, or spending more time with your loved ones, the new year is a great time for a fresh start.

An aspect of our health that often gets forgotten in the mix of booking dentist appointments and visiting the doctor is our hearing. It’s one of our senses that we can never “turn off,” and it works overtime as we sleep to keep us safe.

Have you been struggling to hear your family or coworkers speaking to you, or asking for constant repetition? Turning the volume on your TV up louder and louder, or avoiding busy environments with exhausting and overwhelming noise? It might be time to take charge of your hearing health.

The Importance of Strong Hearing Health

On average, individuals wait up to seven years before addressing a hearing challenge after spotting it in action. Whether it be from fear of looking old with hearing aids or simply not thinking their hearing challenge is “that bad,” we’ve seen dozens of patients in our clinic who made a note of their hearing loss years prior to addressing it.

Untreated hearing loss has been linked to several negative health conditions outside of missing a few words in a chat. Increased harmful fall risk, decreased memory and cognition abilities, dizziness and loss of balance, heightened risk of dementia, and mental health challenges like social isolation and depression have all been linked to hearing loss.

Taking care of your hearing health sooner rather than later can provide you with far more than just strong, healthy hearing: You’ll feel steady on your feet, confident in social situations, sharper in memory and cognition, and more connected with your loved ones.

How Can a Comprehensive Hearing Assessment Help Me?

If you’re ready to get started on your hearing health journey, you’re in the right place! Every journey starts somewhere, and to reach better hearing health, yours starts with a comprehensive hearing assessment.

A hearing test should be as routine as a dental checkup or visiting the doctor for an annual physical: It’s painless, efficient, and gives you a full understanding of what your hearing needs to succeed.

Your unique needs are at the forefront of every move our team of hearing specialists makes while testing your hearing, so you can rest assured that your treatment plan will be tailor-made to your specific requirements, from your hearing loss diagnosis to your lifestyle and hobby choices.

We start with a quick chat about you, asking a few questions about your medical history, hearing concerns, and more so your hearing expert can begin to formulate the ideal journey for your better hearing health.

After a physical examination of your ears to check for earwax impaction (which we can remove for you!) or infection, we’ll move into the testing part, which will take the longest but will provide you with an exhaustive overview of your current hearing range and health.

You’ll receive your results on the same day, and your hearing care professional will offer recommendations and guidance for how to proceed, whether your hearing loss diagnosis requires hearing aids or not.
